“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." —Matthew 11:28
Sometimes the best thing to do is... nothing!
We have heard you, and we decided to discontinue Summer Bible Splash 2020 programming this summer. In Genesis, God teaches us that rest and sabbath are built into the 7 primordial days of creation, and in the Gospel of Matthew Jesus calls himself that rest we need. So take a break, Summer Bible Splash will be converted to Sunday school curriculum for the fall, and parents and guardians can take this time to rest and relax with their children.
In the wake of Covid-19, it has been a really tough 4 months of homeschooling, cancelled or changed vacations, lost or reduced work, and looming unknowns with school in the fall. We hear your concerns and burnout, and our prayers are for parents and caregivers of children to find some rest this summer in Jesus.
Please know that we are here to support you as you nurture your child's faith journey at home this summer and in all the days to come. Contact us if you still would like some advice, coaching or materials for at-home faith formation.
May God be with you along the way,
Lauren Kershes, Pastor Sullivan, and the Summer Bible Splash 2020 Team
